From Ljubljana
Take the A2 motorway towards Jesenice, then the main road up the valley to Kranjska Gora. About 85 km, just over an hour.
From Austria
Through the Karawanks tunnel and on to Kranjska Gora, or over the Wurzen pass, only a few kilometres from the house.
From Italy
From Tarvisio via Rateče, about 13 km and a quarter of an hour.
Airport
Ljubljana Jože Pučnik Airport is about 60 km away, under an hour by car.
By bus
Regular buses from Ljubljana and from Jesenice railway station. The stop is in the centre, a few minutes’ walk from the house.
Parking
In front of the house, free of charge. The car can rest all week: the slope, centre and shop are all within walking distance.
All year
Skis in winter. Flowers and bikes in summer.
Winter
The Kranjska Gora slopes on your doorstep, cross-country trails along the valley, and the Planica ski jumps and the Vitranc World Cup nearby.
Summer
The valley cycle path to Planica and Italy, Lake Jasna, Zelenci and the Vršič pass. In the evening, the garden and the barbecue.

Winter
- Kranjska Gora ski area – right next to the house, good for families and beginners, with harder runs up on Vitranc.
- Cross-country skiing – trails along the valley towards Podkoren, Rateče and Planica.
- Planica – the ski jumps and Nordic centre, about 7 km away.
- World Cup races – alpine skiers on Podkoren, ski jumpers and ski flyers in Planica.
Summer
- Cycle path – along the old railway line to Planica and Tarvisio or towards Jesenice, almost flat.
- Lake Jasna – about 2 km, a lakeside walk and a swim for the brave.
- Zelenci – the source of the Sava and a nature reserve, about 5 km.
- Vršič pass – Slovenia’s highest road pass and the way to the Soča valley.
- Hiking – trailheads into the Julian Alps, including easy family walks.
